Judith E. Glaser

Founder, The CreatingWE® Institute

Judith E. Glaser passed away in November 2018, after a 3-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Judith E. Glaser was an Organizational Anthropologist. She was one of the most pioneering and innovative change agents, consultants and executive coaches in the consulting and coaching industry and was the world’s leading authority on Conversational Intelligence®, WE-centric Leadership, and Neuro-Innovation, and was a best-selling author of 7 business books including her best seller - Conversational Intelligence: How Great Leaders Build Trust and Get Extraordinary Results.

Through the application of the "Neuroscience of WE" to business challenges, Judith showed CEOs and their teams how to elevate levels of engagement, collaboration, and innovation to positively impact the bottom line.

Judith was the founder and CEO of Benchmark Communications, Inc. and the Chairman of The Creating WE® Institute. She had over thirty years of business experience working with CEOs and their teams in establishing WE-centric cultures poised to strategically handle business challenges in the face of moving targets. Judith's transformational approach using the Neuroscience of Conversations® and anthropology enables leaders to raise their Conversational Intelligence® and build agile and higher performing individuals and teams poised to impact the bottom line and top-line results in their organizations. 

In 2014 Judith partnered with Ben Croft, CEO of WBECS, to launch Conversational Intelligence® for Coaches, a certification program attended by over 3,000 coaches globally. In 2017 Judith was selected by Marshall Goldsmith as one of the top 15 Coaches in the world, and has been selected as a 2017 Brava Award Winner. She has also been ranked as the 10th Coaching Guru in the world by Global Gurus. In 2016-2018 Conversational Intelligence® was selected by INC Magazine as one of the top 5 business trends of the year.  Since 2006 Judith has been listed as one of the top 10 consultants globally in Executive Excellence Top 100 Consultants and is recognized as one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders globally on the subject of leadership.

In 2004 Judith was awarded Woman of the Year in New York City and in 2017 honored for her exemplary work in leadership by Smart CEO. In 2006 she was inducted into the Temple University Gallery of Success and in 2011 Judith was awarded the Drexel University Distinguished Alumni Award. She was a Founding Fellow of the Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School affiliate.

Judith has appeared on CBS Morning News with Charlie Rose & Gayle King, NBC’s Today Show, ABC World News, The Fox News Channel, The Martha Stewart Show and the Family Network talking about We-Centric Leadership and Cultural Transformation. She was frequently quoted on her revolutionary workplace approaches in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s, Harvard Business Review, The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, Psychology Today, AMA World, and was a contributing Editor for Executive Excellence Magazine and HR.com.

Judith has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Wharton, visiting guest speaker at Harvard, MIT, Kellogg, Loyola, University of Chicago, NYU, IIT, University of Stellenbosch, Etisalat Academy in Dubai, Tsinghua University in China and others. She was on the boards of We Are Family Foundation, Expeditionary Learning, and was a founding member of The Executive Woman’s Business Forum and Women Leader’s in Health Science & Technology. She was a frequent speaker for Vistage and TEC in the US and Canada.

Judith was awarded a Research Fellowship from Drexel University, where she earned a master’s degree in human behavior and development with additional work at the Bales School of Social Research at Harvard as well as the University of Pennsylvania. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Temple University. She received a master’s certificate in corporate and political communications from Fairfield University.

Richard D. Glaser is a longtime officer of Benchmark Communications, Inc. and a founder, along with his late wife, Judith, of The CreatingWE® Institute. Through The CreatingWE® Institute, Richard and Judith worked as coaches and consultants with multi-national firms.

Benchmark Communications and The CreatingWE® Institute hold a number of international trademarks, most notably, Conversational Intelligence®.

Richard brings over 30 years of management experience to bear on the growth of The CreatingWE® Institute and its Conversational Intelligence® initiatives. Through The CreatingWE® Institute, Glaser consults with Biotechnology companies not only in management issues, but in drug development strategies, clinical drug design, and regulatory affairs. His intimate knowledge of Conversational Intelligence® has enabled him to quickly build highly effective teams in all aspects of drug development.

Richard has worked in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology Industry most of his professional career including two Fortune 500 companies where he held executive global responsibilities.  As an entrepreneur, has served as the COO and Board member of two NASDAQ companies as well as the President of the first of the major Contract Research Organizations servicing the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Richard earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a MS degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Kansas and an MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and a BS in Chemistry from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now The University of Sciences).

For many years, Richard has worked closely with a number of oncology researchers at NYU Langone Medical Center assisting in the design of their research protocols to meet the FDA’s stringent requirements for approval to market a pharmaceutical product.  Most recently Glaser has been involved in the development of genetically based oncology drugs and in the development of a more accurate diagnostics for cancer.  The development of effective cancer diagnostics and effective pharmaceuticals to treat cancer is a personal goal for Richard.

María brings extensive experience coaching and advising executives and organizations in human performance, leadership and communication. A highly capable executive coach and facilitator, she understands the relationship between individual and organization success. Adept at understanding diverse organizational cultures and business models, María brings a thoughtful, pragmatic and outcome-based approach to her work, motivating clients to identify and achieve success.

A dynamic and high-energy facilitator, María consults with corporations, professional associations and non-profit boards on leadership and team issues, as well as facilitates corporate sessions in leadership development, high performance work teams, strategic planning, performance planning and change management. In addition, she facilitates group learning for corporate leadership development programs and has been recognized for her ability to engage and motivate audiences quickly, helping participants ‘move the needle’.

In her various roles as partner, managing consultant and senior consultant in private as well as global human performance consulting firms, she has worked with leaders and teams, and coached hundreds of executives and senior executives in myriad industries and functions, in diverse company sizes from mid-size to Fortune 50 and 100, as well as non-profits in the medical, arts and social services arenas.

Her early experience includes corporate HR roles at a Fortune 100 company, ten years in a private consulting business, and she was an owner of a successful independent bookstore. María has both a B.A in Social Ecology (emphasis in Human Behavior) as well as a Certificate in Organizational Development from the University of California, Irvine. She is certified in various frameworks, as well as in the use of numerous 360, assessment, and catalyst tools.

Core to her methodology is Conversational Intelligence® (C-IQ), a neuroscience-based methodology that transforms leaders, teams and engagement. A prolific reader, María served on the C-IQ Certification Leadership Team, developing and facilitating certification immersion sessions, as well as mentoring and coaching those new to C-IQ.
